E85 Fuel Making The Switch Helps The Budget and Environment

If you do not regularly make long journeys and are environmentally conscious, E85 could be the fuel to use to help keep your gas on budget. Bella has been using it for the last three months in her Dodge Mini-Van, and is saving approximately 0.30 on the gallon. Add on the additional saving of 0.10 offered by some store cards and the savings continue to add up. It's important to note that you need to make sure your vehicle is able to use the E85. In her mini-van Bella has to use a quarter unleaded with the E85. Instead of paying $24 to fill the tank she now only pays $17.

E85 is a fuel mixture containing 85 percent gasoline and 15 percent ethanol alcohol, and is intended to be used in flexi-fuel engines (check your cars handbook). It is also a renewable energy, and a great way to hep reduce greenhouse gases. If you would like to learn more about the benefits and drawbacks, check out these websites
